About Us...
Owner, Eddie Shipstad has directed ice shows since 1999. Eddie is a third generation ice show visionary and continues his family heritage of over 70 years of ice show entertainment. He was a five-time US National competitor and was a principal soloist with Disney's World on Ice in the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Japan. Some of the companies that Eddie has worked with on projects include: Vari*Lite, Flying by Foy, 4-Wall Lighting, Technical Designs, Destination Services of Colorado, Electro Media, Barbizon Light of the Rockies, and IMG.
Family History
Eddie H. Shipstad, Eddie's Grandfather, started the first-ever traveling ice show in the world, the Shipstads and Johnson Ice Follies in 1936.
Eddie J. Shipstad, Eddie's Father, produced 15 years of ice shows at the world famous Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He also produced an ice show at New York City's Radio City Music Hall. Mr. Shipstad directed multiple shows at Sea World in California, Florida, and Texas as well as directing multiple shows with Olympic Champion Scott Hamilton.
Bob Shipstad, son of Eddie H. Shipstad, is now the Chief Creative Officer for the Club Blue Water Channel. He produced acclaimed entertainment and sports specials for ABC, CBS, and NBC. He was the co-owner, founder, and producer of Sesame Street Live and the Muppets on Tour. Mr. Shipstad also served as executive producer for the NFL's Super Bowl half-time show.
Choreographer
Simone Grigorescu is a world renowned choreographer for competitive skaters, seasoned professionals, and ice show productions. She was a World Professional Champion and star of the Ice Capades. She has choreographed productions at Sea World and other locations around the United States and the World. Shipstad Entertainment is proud to have her as a part of our creative team.
